Ben Folds and more

So on Sunday I went up to London with my mate Luke (check his music out if you haven't already, click here) to see Ben Folds at Shepherds Bush Hall.

We made a bit of an error on the way to the venue because we had actually put the postcode of London's Brixton Academy into the Sat Nav. I'm not quite sure how this mistake occurred, I think its because we got the postcode from the bottom of the website, which was actually the postcode for the headoffices, which were obviously based in Brixton Academy. (Both venues are run by the same company). So yeah. We parked up at a random street and then went to McDonalds. After this, we walked round the corner to see that Jimmy Car was performing, to which point we realised we were in the wrong place. Haha.

So anyway, 20 minutes later we got to the correct venue and yeah, Ben Folds was absolutely quality! Unfortunately there were some really drunk 'twats' that spoiled the show slightly, because they were fat, and drunk, and looked like they should have been at a football match, rather than a Ben Folds concert. They were clapping really craply (out of time) and singing along, really really badly (coming in at the wrong points etc..) and yeah, they were dicks. Luke went over and said something to one of them, which resulted to them starting on him after the show, explaining to him how he had ruined their evening and that it had cost them a lot of money. Some people really are shocking.

Oh well. Luckily nothing happened, and they left. (insert offensive word here, ie, DICK HEAD).

Last night I saw a band from L.A called Anavan. They were pretty cool, the drummer was like the front man, which was good. He proper went for it. Unfortunately the Keyboardest looked extremely bored, which ruined it for me a bit. All the same, a great show. check them out here.

I cant think of many other things that I have been up to. Last friday I went Ice Skating on this temporary ice rink that has been set up in Southampton over christmas. It was pretty fun.

On Saturday I went out with Mr James Moodie and Chris Checkley and met a load of friends at Unit. We all got extremely drunk and after Unit Chris decided that it would be a great Idea to go to a Casino so we went off and found one. Chris wasted £10 on roulette, which I found highly entertaining to watch. After this we decided to go and have a walk around our old Halls of Residence and I managed to get into the old flat that I lived in, and spoke to a guy who lived there. That was cool. Then me and Chris some how seperated and I bumped into the security guard Carey (who is a legend). He made me a cup of tea and we sat and watch all the CCTV cameras on sight, and I even got to have a go on one of the ones that is controlled by a joy stick. That was super fun! I got in at like 7am.

Today I have been into university with my house mate Sam. We volenteered ourselves to do some moddelling for our friend Louise. So that was a laugh. The Sudent Union had an offer where if you buy a drink (of any variety), you got a free crate of Dr Pepper (cans). Obviously we got a crate each. We then went into town (lugging our crates of Dr Pepper around with us) and looked around in some shops. I bumped into my friend Chris, (who is in a band that you should all check out called Venice Ahoy. click here) and we played Guitar Hero in HMV. I also tried on the nicest fitting jeans ever. Unfortunately they were £80, and I dont think I will be able to get them any time soon.

We got home to find Chris preparing a WELL NICE meal. It was sweet and sour sauce stuff with Chicken and Noodles. I dont really know what you call that. Chinese maybe? We even had profitaroles (sp?) for our desert. well good.

I am now faced with the challange of washing up, because it is my day on the rota. I guess I should go and do that.

I cant believe how quickly the first term at uni has gone. Next week I am heading back home for Christmas. Mental! I am working back at Columbia Records over Christmas which is wicked. Looking forward to that, even tho London is going to be absolutely crammed with stressed last minute Christmas shoppers!

I appoligise if the spelling and grammer is poor in this blog, for some reason I'm struggling today. I have no idea why.

anyway, I am now going to go and conquer this washing up. I hope you enjoyed your last 3 minutes reading this!
