how amazing is this!

So today is the last day of 09

And what a waste of day it has been. So far anyway. It's 15.10 and i'm still sat in my dressing gown, watching Goodnight Mr Tom.

Last night I went out in Maidstone and managed to achieve a permanent ban from the Source Bar. haha. Me and Josh were kicked out for kicking a table over or something... So anyway, I tried to sneak back in, but was caught by a bouncer who then 'body slammed' me to the floor. I gotta say, it f*cking hurt and now I have a really saw arm.

I STILL have no plans for tonight. I think Jack's going to come up and we're just going to watch the London celebrations on TV.

Rock. and. Roll.

I hope you all have a wonderful night!

Happy New Year!!

my career plan....

Graduate.

Become a Rock Star

Live off my Royalties

of course,... this may not happen, so here is my back up plan:

Graduate.

Get a job in the music industry.

Whilst working in the music industry develop a strong relationship with TV and Radio people, which will then lead on to:

Children's TV presenter.

I will then gradually move onto older audiences and move to channel 4 and be offered a radio show on a popular radio station such as Radio 1 or Capitol FM.

Once I get a bit older I will move onto presenting the news, and a show on BBC Radio 2.

If all goes to plan I will retire at 50.

This whole idea will most definitely change on a weekly basis.

Great things about 2008

I'm going to make a list of all of the awesome things that I have done in 2008. I'd say 2008, on a whole, has been a great year!

So lets begin:

I have gone to Jamaica and met the youtube phenomenon who is the laughing tour guide.

I have passed my 1st year at university.

I have turned 20, and had an awesome party

I have snuck backstage at Reading Festival and watched the Killers from the side stage.

I have seen the Killers play a secret show in a room with 250 other people.

I have met the Killers at the Royal Albert Hall.

I have moved into a house.

I have seen Ben Folds.

I have done loads more, but i have a terrible memory, so I will add things on as I think of them.

Boxmas last night was pretty awesome, even if I only remember it up until about 10pm.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

That is all. x

wiinnter wonderland and stuff.

Yesterday I went to London with Hannah and Hannah (Waters and Lovett) in hope to do some Christmas shopping. Instead tho, we spent most of our time at Hyde Park, in Winter Wonderland. This was pretty cool, just loads of really Christmassy things, Rides, Ice Rink, Food stalls etc...

We decided to go on this absolutely massive Ferris Wheel, which cost £7 each, but I didn't care, because earlier on the day I had found a tenner on the floor at the train station. WINNER!

After this we attempted some Christmas shopping down Oxford street, but oh my god, it was so busy!! So we failed at shopping completely and just got the next train home from Charing Cross.

In the evening Matt and Will came round to mine and we all drunk cheap cider, and Hannah drank some Tesco value Rosé. IT was fun.

Today I went to the designer shopping outlet in Ashford with Matt and Scotty P and got my sister a Christmas present, which was a bit of a result, but I still need to get my mum and dad presents, and tomorrow is Christmas Eve. yikes.

I'm meeting Scotty P in town tomorrow and hopefully this problem will be resolved.

i may not been too keen on their new album but...

I've gotta admit, I do still absolutely love Fall Out Boy.

I've just been watching some videos of them from a recent TV performance, and they are pretty sweet, which has made me realize, that I think I would like their recent Live DVD that they released about a year ago. I think its called "Live in Chicago" or something. So thats an addition to the Christmas list.

I've just woken up, at 5pm. I've had such a gay hangover, and been sick 4 times, however, I think I am ok now.

Last night me and Will drank loads of snakebite and then went to The Vine in Tenterden. I didn't think I drank that much, but, well I dont really remember the end of the night. Apparently Will cooked me some amazing meal or something!

Finished at Columbia yesterday, which I am always gutted about, but hopefully I will be back there soon!

I think that is all I have to say for the time being.

I'm going to get up now! x

Wednesday, 17 December 2008

Nothing much to report

Just been working at Columbia for the last few days really. Done the usual stuff!

I dont really have much else to say!

I'm really bored!

Monday, 15 December 2008

Back at Columbia...

yep.

Today I went back to work at Columbia Records, which was nice! I just did the usual stuff, which I have told you about many times before, but the exciting thing today, was that Mark Ronson came in!

I am know watching the film "About a Boy", and I am actually quite enjoying it, which probably makes me a great big girl, but I dont care.

I love the fact I have to get up at 6.45am tomorrow! yesss!

I tell you what is cool tho. My mum had an interview for a new job today, and she went and blitzed it! and yes, she got the job. Congratulations Anne Lovett.

BORED

I am sat in, on a Friday night.

No one seems to be about, and there is nothing to do!

I am just sat in the lounge, watching TV again.

I recommend channel 333 - Nigeria Movies. It's pretty entertaining!

Today I went into Ashford with my sister! We went in a few shops, and then Ed came on his lunch break with us and we went to McDonalds!

Ok, so I wrote the first half of this blog about 4 hours ago. Since then, Ross came round, and we went to Ashford because Ross wanted to get an X-Box game. He got Mirrors Edge, and also some films. Including "The Ringer". We then came back to my house and watched this, and I found it pretty damn funny! Since then I have just been sat around, home alone, being bored.

My whole family all just got home at the same time. They have all been different places. Some sort of strange coincidence there! My mum was absolutely plastered. Amazing.

rite. goodbye!

Thursday, 11 December 2008

back home for Christmas!

Yep. mental. The 1st term of university has literally zoooooomed past, and I am know half way through completely my degree on Music Promotion!

Last night was a rite messy one!

My house mates made an absolutely fantastic Christmas dinner, it was well nice! then, after this Me, Dave, Chris and Fran played Ring of Fire. That was really fun, and we got pretty drunk.

So at like 10.30 we headed to Kaos for party times! Me and Dave lasted until about 12 there, until we decided that Rhino would be better, so we left everyone and met some friends at Rhino and had an all in all, great time! (not to say that Kaos wasn't good)

After this, I cant really remember much, because I was pretty full on drunk. But somehow, we found our selves walking home with our friends Amy and Phoebe, and they came back and had a cup of tea. After this we pratted about and misbehaved until the early hours of the morning.

Today I packed my bags and the wonder that is Mathew Lambert gave me a lift home!

I am know sat in my lounge (which has been completely redone, due to the ceeling falling through) watching TV. It started off with a bit of cops on camera, and then I watched something else (I cant remember what), and then I watched a Louis Theroux documentary (The one about the mail order brides in Bangcock), and then I watched the end of a documentary about a man (woman) who had a baby. It actually made me feel sick, I think that sort of stuff is so wrong, and should be made illegal. After that I watched a bit of Star Stories and KNOW!!! I am watching another Louis Theroux documentary about gangs in Johannesburg. It's pretty good. I love Louis Theroux.

This blog sucked. Nevermind!

I love this song at the moment

The Teenagers - Homecoming

I think its great.

go to www.myspace.com/theteenagers and listen to it know.

YESSSS

Someone found my Wallet and I have now been reimbursed, with nothing missing!

goodbye wallet

I am so annoyed rite now.

Last night I was in a club, and I accidentally knock a girls drink out of her hand.

obviously she was a bit annoyed, and wanted me to get her another drink. The problem was I had run out of money for the night. So anyway, she didn't believe me, so I got my wallet out to prove this to her, and then she took it and ran off!!!!!!!

I was looking everywhere for the rest of the night, but yeah, no luck.

I'm going to have a shower, and then go to the police station.

I cant believe some people.

(P.S, finished my essay)

Tuesday, 9 December 2008

approximately half way through

Yep, I've done 910 words.

I was in the library till just past 9pm yesterday. I got quite a bit of work done tho, so its all good. A LOT more productive than my day at the library last Friday. That was awful!!

Cant think of anything else to add to my "Things to do in 2009 list" So at the moment, I guess I will have a pretty easy year.

I guess I should add stuff like:

  • Work hard at university
  • Get a job
But I'd say they are more like those good old New Year Resolutions.

I think I said I was going to do this last year, and never did, but I'm going to try again this year, to write up a blog which 'summarizes' my 2009. I'd say its been a great year, so I guess there will be a lot to talk about.

Rite, anyway, its 10am and I am in the library. I have got 1090 words to crack on with.

Wish me luck!

Monday, 8 December 2008

two hundred and fourty nine words

yep. I have so far done 249 words.

I was slightly delayed into the library this morning, I actually got here at about 2.30pm.

I over slept, and then had to wait for Chris to come home with the gas card, as we had run out of gas/hot water, meaning that I was unable to have a shower. Chris had topped it up on his way to university, so yeah, thats why I had to wait for him. I've made it all sound pretty confusing, but its pretty simple.

No hot water/Chris had money on the card/I had to wait for him to bring it back home before I could have a shower.

Haha, so anyway, I've been in the library for 50 minutes and managed these 249 words, which I think is pretty awesome. Even tho, I am a little bit stuck already.

Whilst writing my essay it has been in the back of my head that I should create a 'things to do in 2009' list. So I am going to start one.

Although I cant think of many things now, I'm going to keep adding to it every time I think of something.

So far:

1. See Death Cab for Cutie
2. Go to America.

I know have to go because I have a photoshoot with Sin Radio.

Bye!
xx

Quality gig

Just got back from the Joiners.

I really enjoyed the bands, they were all extremely good, and you should check them out.

I missed the first band (run, walk) but apparently they were quality. The songs on their myspace dont do much for them, so I wasn't really planning on seeing them, although I know regret this from what I've been told. www.myspace.com/runwalk - check them out.

The next band to play were a band called The Maddisons. I walked in to see their last two songs. I thought they were pretty good, but unfortunately the vox weren't that great. Which is a shame, with a bit of practice i'd say they could be cool. A lot of people will probably disagree with me, but whilst watching them I thought they reminded me of The Cribs quite a bit. I've looked for their myspace page for about 5 minutes. And I cant find it! So yeah, I cant link you to them. But if your that interested, im sure you could find them in the Joiners Myspace page list of friends. www.myspace.com/joinerspromotions

Next to the stage were Joey Nightmare who were absolutely brilliant. They were SO tight! The drummer to that band was so good that it made me want to vom. Musically they sort of remind me of Minus the Bear, but with a Female vocalist. Definitely go to their myspace page and check them out. www.myspace.com/joeynightmare

After Joey Nightmare was a band called Colour. It was a shock to realise that I actually knew the guitarist to the band, from about 3 years ago. Crazy! So yeah, it was cool to see him. They were really really good, again, a really tight set, and they were all quality musicians. The best part of their set was when they played a song called 'over the moon'. I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Venice Ahoy took to the stage and delivered a brilliant set. I've seen them a few times before, and unfortunately tonight wasn't the best that I've seen of them, but they were still brilliant! haha. I'm so good at reviews (not!) The excitement to their set arose (good word) when all the lights cut out for about 15/20 seconds whilst they were playing. The whole place went really dark. It was pretty cool. haha. Check Venice Ahoy out HERE!

So yeah, I'm sat here writing this, when what I should actually be doing is work on my Essay. I've still not got it started, I'm actually really worried about getting it done. I'm planning on devoting all my free time to the library over these next two and a half days. I'm sure its not just me who's left it last minute. Infact, I know that it isn't. So yeah, what am I worrying about!?

It's in on Wednesday, and I cant wait to hand it in. I know I'll have got it done.

There was something else that I had to say, but i've forgotten what it was. I've been going blog crazy these last couple of days! Its great.

I would imagine that you will see quite a lot of "I am screwed" and "I hate essays" updates in these next few days. Hope your all looking forward to that!

Goodbye.

Sunday, 7 December 2008

OH! and also....

I just listened to the new Fall Out Boy album.

I'm not very impressed, and this saddens me.

I need to give it a proper listen rather than just have it on in the background. I really hope it will grow on me, I've always loved the FOB.

I'm now going to listen to The Maple State.

Kill The Music

I cant stop listening to "Kill The Music" by Every Time I Die.

Its so sick.

That is all.

weekend so far (and putting off essay)

This weekend has consisted of gigs, gigs and more gigs!!

Friday night I went to Hamptons to see Luke play. It was a brilliant night and loads of people had turned up and everyone seemed to have a good time. Atlum Schema also played, and he is good. I went up to Exeter with him and Luke once for a show. You can check him out here.

After this I met up with Mr James Moodie and Pat. We went to Champagne Charlies and got some very cheap wine, and then went to my house, and drunk it. It got us pretty pissed. Moodie took some photos, but I dont have them. I'll put them up when he 'uploads' them to Facebook. I guess.

Then, on Saturday I did my radio show on Sin Radio with Moodie and Fran. It was the last show of 2008, and I wasn't feeling to great. All the same tho, it was fun. After the radio show we had to go and meet Chris to get the December listings for Joiners and scatter them around town. We managed to do this pretty quickly, but I was still feeling very rough. And I also felt like I looked like a tramp, which made me feel pretty bleeerrgh. I guess it was because my hair was really greasy due to the fact that I hadn't showered for a couple of days. I was also covered in silver spray and fake snow from where they were decorating UNIT. Moodie thought it would be funny to spray me, so he did. It's ok tho, because I sprayed him back! MWOAH HA HA HA.

Nipped home after this very quickly to have a shower and have something to eat before I went to Hamptons with my house mate Dave who was really looking forward to seeing one of his fave bands 'Exit Ten'. I personally didn't like them, at all. But oh well, I guess they will enjoy something with my £10 door tax. I had decided to go along because I wanted to see my friend Davyd get his metal on, as his band were the support act. They are called Bury Tomorrow and they were a lot better than Exit Ten.

After this I went and met up with Moodie and we went to Lennons to see a band called Fresh Legs. They were wicked! I enjoyed watching them.

After this (!!!!) we headed down to UNIT for a few cheeky drinks. This was cool.

So then, after this (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) we went to my friend Matt's house, as he was having a party. I was pretty drunk by this point, but obviously not drunk enough. So I ran back to my house and grabbed a bottle of wine and some cider. The rest of the night is a bit of a blur.

I had planned on attending my friends Ant and Mark's house, as they were also having a house party, but I sadly didn't make it. Which sucked. But oh well, I still had a good night!

Annoyingly, I have only just woken up today (at 5pm) which is terrible. I was hoping to get up early and attempt some work. Oh well, that was never going to happen! There is no point in starting it now, because I'm off out again in an hour or two to see Venice Ahoy and some others.

That should be a good show. I guess if I was a model student, then I would give it a miss and do my work. But then, that would be boring, and I love getting stressed about starting essays last minute.

I am now going to have a cheeky bacon sandwich.

GOODBYE!

BBC Sound of 2009

Every year the BBC compiles a list of 10 bands in which they recon are going to get 'HUGE'.

Take a look at last years:

I'm sure most of you have heard of all of those artists.

So anyway, they have just posted their 'Sound of 2009' list.

Take a look at it here!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7758169.stm

Pretty cool huh!

anyways. I'm off to the Got Got Mince Pie Christmas show at Hamptons!

BYE!

Back from the library.

YEP!

Got pretty much NOTHING done. which is cool.

This update is to tell you that the style of bag that I want is a 'messenger' bag.

Here's a picture of a lovely junior cat that comes round to see me at my house every day.

AWWWW

Christmas list continued.

I'd like some new clothes. I could do with a new hoodie. The one that I have at the moment has become a bit stretched and tatty.

I'd also like a new (school) bag. I cant think what the style of the bag is called, one of those 'sling around your shoulder' bags.

New shoes!

Ink Cartridges for my printer are needed, although I guess that they wouldn't make that greater present.

I'm basically putting off my essay by writing this Christmas list. for the last week i've been telling my self that im going to start work on it. But I haven't. It's well annoying. There's something wrong with my brain, that just tells me everything is fine, and leaving it to the last minute will work out fine.

But anyway, saying that, I am actually off to the library now to sit in the 'quiet' area and attempt to do some reading and come up with a title for this dreaded assignment which is due in next Wednesday. I had my alarm set for 9.30 this morning, hoping that I could be at the library for 10am. But I've only just got out of bed (at 11.45). I'm such a terrible student, but I like to think that a majority of us are all like this!!!

good bye!

Ben Folds and more

So on Sunday I went up to London with my mate Luke (check his music out if you haven't already, click here) to see Ben Folds at Shepherds Bush Hall.

We made a bit of an error on the way to the venue because we had actually put the postcode of London's Brixton Academy into the Sat Nav. I'm not quite sure how this mistake occurred, I think its because we got the postcode from the bottom of the website, which was actually the postcode for the headoffices, which were obviously based in Brixton Academy. (Both venues are run by the same company). So yeah. We parked up at a random street and then went to McDonalds. After this, we walked round the corner to see that Jimmy Car was performing, to which point we realised we were in the wrong place. Haha.

So anyway, 20 minutes later we got to the correct venue and yeah, Ben Folds was absolutely quality! Unfortunately there were some really drunk 'twats' that spoiled the show slightly, because they were fat, and drunk, and looked like they should have been at a football match, rather than a Ben Folds concert. They were clapping really craply (out of time) and singing along, really really badly (coming in at the wrong points etc..) and yeah, they were dicks. Luke went over and said something to one of them, which resulted to them starting on him after the show, explaining to him how he had ruined their evening and that it had cost them a lot of money. Some people really are shocking.

Oh well. Luckily nothing happened, and they left. (insert offensive word here, ie, DICK HEAD).

Last night I saw a band from L.A called Anavan. They were pretty cool, the drummer was like the front man, which was good. He proper went for it. Unfortunately the Keyboardest looked extremely bored, which ruined it for me a bit. All the same, a great show. check them out here.

I cant think of many other things that I have been up to. Last friday I went Ice Skating on this temporary ice rink that has been set up in Southampton over christmas. It was pretty fun.

On Saturday I went out with Mr James Moodie and Chris Checkley and met a load of friends at Unit. We all got extremely drunk and after Unit Chris decided that it would be a great Idea to go to a Casino so we went off and found one. Chris wasted £10 on roulette, which I found highly entertaining to watch. After this we decided to go and have a walk around our old Halls of Residence and I managed to get into the old flat that I lived in, and spoke to a guy who lived there. That was cool. Then me and Chris some how seperated and I bumped into the security guard Carey (who is a legend). He made me a cup of tea and we sat and watch all the CCTV cameras on sight, and I even got to have a go on one of the ones that is controlled by a joy stick. That was super fun! I got in at like 7am.

Today I have been into university with my house mate Sam. We volenteered ourselves to do some moddelling for our friend Louise. So that was a laugh. The Sudent Union had an offer where if you buy a drink (of any variety), you got a free crate of Dr Pepper (cans). Obviously we got a crate each. We then went into town (lugging our crates of Dr Pepper around with us) and looked around in some shops. I bumped into my friend Chris, (who is in a band that you should all check out called Venice Ahoy. click here) and we played Guitar Hero in HMV. I also tried on the nicest fitting jeans ever. Unfortunately they were £80, and I dont think I will be able to get them any time soon.

We got home to find Chris preparing a WELL NICE meal. It was sweet and sour sauce stuff with Chicken and Noodles. I dont really know what you call that. Chinese maybe? We even had profitaroles (sp?) for our desert. well good.

I am now faced with the challange of washing up, because it is my day on the rota. I guess I should go and do that.

I cant believe how quickly the first term at uni has gone. Next week I am heading back home for Christmas. Mental! I am working back at Columbia Records over Christmas which is wicked. Looking forward to that, even tho London is going to be absolutely crammed with stressed last minute Christmas shoppers!

I appoligise if the spelling and grammer is poor in this blog, for some reason I'm struggling today. I have no idea why.

anyway, I am now going to go and conquer this washing up. I hope you enjoyed your last 3 minutes reading this!

Addition to the Christmas List

Levis 603 Super Skinny Jeans
Waist 30" Leg 34"
Colour: 29

I tried these on today, and know I really want them.

New Found Glory

Last night I saw New Found Glory.

It was pretty quality. I hadn't seen them for a while! I think it was my 8th time seeing them last night, and they still have it! I really did feel like I was 16 again. I was determined that I would watch them from the back, and just 'chill', but literally, as soon as the lights dimmed I ran straight to the front and was singing along, pogo'ing, everything! it was so much fun!

After this I went to Rhino with Mr Moodie which was pretty fun! After being there for about 45 minutes, I looked up to see the no other than Mr Jordan Pundik of New Found Glory in the club! I couldn't believe it. It was pretty awesome. Soon after this the rest of the band (apart from Cyrus) and members of the support bands (Crime in Stereo, Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals). It was awesome, although I would have loved to have had a chat with Cyrus.

That is about the only thing 'exciting' that has happened to me recently. (at least, thats all I can think of!)

I am now going to get back to playing on Google Earth

Luke Leighfield

My friend Luke Leighfield has just posted two new songs on his myspace page.

You should check them out! They're awesome!

www.myspace.com/simplylukeleighfield

Its that time of year again.

With Boxing Day only 6 weeks from today, I feel like its the rite time of year to publish my Christmas list again. Mainly just for my parents to read, because they are the only people who tend to buy me presents now. And maybe my sister. But yeah, there are certain things I want, and certain things I need this Christmas. Unfortunately I cant get both, but I'll still put loads up here so that there is a nice selection, and a potential 'surprise on the day' factor.

I only have 2.82GB left on my internal hard drive on my mac, so an upgrade or an external hard drive would be pretty sick!

Also, my CD burner has stopped working, and the Apple store told me that it would be £150 to replace, which is a massive fail.

I'd also like a hard case for my MacBook. preferably one like this http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Laptop-Protectors---Hard-Cases/Speck/Speck-See-Thru-Hard-Case-For-MacBook-13INCH---Red

Thats all I can think of now, probably because its 4am, and I started this post at about 12 and got distracted on www.justin.tv. Me, Jack, Will, Andy, Paul and Maud have had particular fun watching and winding up this guy - http://www.justin.tv/dcigs

absolutely hilarous.

I'll add more to the list soon.

Cool Film

I watched a cool film the other day, it was called 'The Complete History Of My Sexual Failures'. It's a documentary film made by an independent film maker called Chris Waitt and its a film about his previous sex life, or, 'lack' of sex in his life and how he goes on to try and attempt to interview every girl that he has ever dated, to find out why he constantly gets dumped.

Watch it here!

Part 1:
http://vimeo.com/2158249?pg=embed&sec=2158249

Part 2:
http://vimeo.com/2158412?pg=embed&sec=2158412

After that I watched a Louis Theroux documentary. I love that man, I think he's quality. It was on the most hated family in america. Pretty interesting! This is on google video. Here is the link:

http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=louis+theroux&emb=0&aq=f#

Went to see The Killers again on Monday at Royal Albert Hall with my sister which was cool. We went to the after party and got to meet them but had to rush off straight away after that to get on the last train home as we didn't want to be stranded in London for the night. Apparently Paul McCartney turned up at the party later on in the night, which I am pretty gutted about, because I would have liked to have met him! All the BBC Radio 1 DJ's went as well, but turned up after we left. Fail.

Oh well, still got to meet The Killers!

Laterzzzz x

Monday, 3 November 2008

whoops!

didn't mean to post that last post 3 times! I cant work out how to delete it.

So anyway, today I was lucky enough to have been put onto the guest list for a secret show that The Killers were playing at Bush Hall, Shepherds Bush, London. It was wicked! Me and Ed went up and watched them perform new and classic songs to a tiny audience of 400 people!

Tonight I am seeing them play at The Royal Albert Hall which should be ace!

Another quick one!

So I still dont have the internet at home, although Sam ordered it yesterday, so hopefully we should have it within the next week or two. The reason it has taken so long is because there has been a 'fault' in our phone line which we have been waiting to get fixed. We still don't know if its fixed or not. I guess we'll find out soon enough!

So yeah, I'm just in the library at the moment using the universities internet. I dont have enough time to write a massive update, but dont worry because I have purchased a diary to keep record of everything I have been doing. I definitaly would reccomend buying a diary to any of you. They are extremely usefull and keep you very organised.

So yeah, nothing much to say today, but there will (eventually) be a post with some interesting and funny stories!

There will be a nice large update which will inform you all of my general misbehavings from the last couple of weeks.

geeks and stuff.

Hello! Just a quick blog today, to say that last night was Bex's party which was Geeks vs Tribals themed. As you can see in the picture above. I clearly went as a geek! It was great fun but unfortunately I had to leave early because I had to be up early this morning to venture into London and start at Columbia Records!

So yeah, got in at about 2.30 and had to get up at 6.40! I was SO tired on the train. It was so hard to keep awake, I was terrified that I would miss my stop. I did however manage to kee awake!

Columbia today was awesome. I was working for a guy called James who was cool. I pretty much spent the day putting AC/DC DVD's and singles into jiffy bags and sticking address labels onto them. Just short of 300 I believe. haha.

Since my last time working at Columbia the offices have moved to Kensington High Street. They are awesome! Really spaced out and stuff!

I am now going to attempt to make my packed lunch for tomorrow and get into bed and turn out the lights before midnight. That is 30 minutes from now. Personally, I don't think I will manage.

bye! x

The last couple of days.

The last couple of days have been pretty good! I forgot to say that on Tuesday morning Hannah W came up to my house and made us all pancakes for breakfast!

Anyway!

We'll take off where I left things. Wednesday.

So Ross came up with his X-Box 360 and then we set off to buy a new game. I did indeed manage to talk Ross into wanting MX vs ATV. So first we went to the Tesco at Tenterden, and to our inconvenience, they didn't have it. They didn't actually have any X-Box 360 games which was pretty gay. This meant going to Ashford. So off we set! Firstly we went to the massive Tesco and had a look in there. They didn't have it. Then we went to the not so big Tesco, and although they had a larger selection of games, they did not have it. We were starting to get a bit worried at this point. After that we went to Asda, who didn't have it. In Asda I had this brainwave of an idea that Blockbusters would still be open. And it was! We went to Blockbusters, with 10 minutes before it closed, and they had 1 copy to rent, and one copy that was pre-owned - WIN!

We rushed back to my house and got playing. It was awesome. We got about 30% through the game and decided to call it a night, at about 2.45am. I think.

Thursday day was pretty friggin boring. I did nothing! It was just one of those days basically. Up until about 10.30pm when Jack and Will came round. Then we all did nothing together. Literally! haha. This took its toll at about 2.30am when we decided we were hungry. So we all went to Tesco and got LOADS of fresh pasta and sauces. The front seat was ditermined with a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors which me and Will LOVE playing. Unfortunately I lost, for both the journey there, and on the way home. We got back to mine about an hour later somehow, and cooked our food. It was delish! We went to bed nice and early at about 4.30, completely sober for a change.

We woke up at a nice 2pm on Friday. We didn't do an awful lot, just watched TV. A bit later we went to Will's house and I played with his super awesome kitten 'Kato'. It's such a cool kitten, its like a snow leopard. Quality. After this we went back to my house and watched a bit more TV. Then Jack went to work and Will went to his other house in Tenterden. After they went I had a shower, and then got a lift into Tenterden with my Dad and went to Will's house. At Will's I played on his new guitar and his loop station, which was well fun! After I got bored of that we went to Tesco and got a crate of Stella. When we got back to Will's his dad made a quality curry and we drank our Stella's before going to The Vine with Jack. After the Vine we went back to Will's with new additions Ed, Jodie and Jack and watched a film that Will loves called "House Party". It was ok, I was pretty drunk, and couldn't really concentrate on it.

I stayed at Will's last night and got up this morning at 11am because I had to meet my Dad in town and go to the train station with him to sort out a season ticket for my travels this coming week to Columbia. After we got that we popped into my Nana's house and saw her for a bit which was nice! We fed her Peacock some peanuts (unsalted - which are horrible).

We then came back to my house and turned the lounge into the DAN.ED.WILL PRACTICE STUDIOS before Ed and Will got to mine and we practiced our songs for our gig at Smarden Charter Hall next week. We even learn't a cover! You will find out what it is if you come along and see us next saturday! After the practice we had a few photos taken of us. I'll show you them soon, If I like them.

This evening I have watched King Kong and that is about it! Tomorrow I have my last shift at The Chequers as next Sunday I am planning to move back to Southampton!

Thanks for reading! x

Moodie's visit.

Yesterday my good friend from university James Moodie came along to visit me in at my humble abode in Kent. It was cool. He got to mine at about 3.30. Just before this Jack had come round and we started watching a pirate copy of the film "Space Chimps" (courtesy of Lou). We didn't really give it much attention to be honest, and I have no idea what the film was even about, apart from the obvious. (chimps go up to space).

So anyway, Moodie got to mine and me, Jack and Moodie just hung around in my house and we watched TV and made food. Jack had to go at 6 to a band practice in Eastbourne, and as Jack left Edward Li and William Quick turned up on my door. They had been to London because will had collected a guitar off someone, which he had purchased via the world wide web. It's an extremly nice Fender 1972 Custom Telecaster Reissue. I dont have a picture, but I will get one soon and upload it on here for all of you too see! We then did a bit more hanging out, which consisted of watching TV basically, before me and Moodie went to Tesco with Ross to get some pop! I decided on the 3ltr Tesco Premium Cider. Moodie got some Stella's and Ross went with the Smirn Off Ice and Apple Bacardi. We also got Dom a 3ltr bad boy and 8 cans of Stella for Will. We then headed back to my house, collected Hannah on the way, and got ON IT! Hannah had a bottle of Rose, but put on an appauling performance, and didn't even manage half of it.

So we just sat around in the kitchen really, chatting and drinking. Dom turned up at about 11.30 I think, and proceeded to catch up with the rest of us. I had already ploughed my way through about 1.5ltrs of my 3ltrs!

It wasn't a very eventful evening, just a fun one!

I woke up this morning to notice that Dom had already gone, I think he had a driving lesson at 8am, I bet that was a giggle!

So today me, Hannah, Ed and Will decided to show Moodie around Tenterden! It was wicked. First of all we went to Tesco because I needed to get some bread. In Tesco we decided it would be a good idea to go for a pub lunch at The Chequers where I work, so we went back to High Halden, only to learn that the pub had stopped serving food. FAIL.

So anyway, we decided to go back to Tenterden having realised we were not going to get food from anywhere else in my village. We ended up going to The Lemon Tree which is a nice Cafe/Tea Rooms located on the high street. Moodie kindly brought me a Egg Mayo baguette which came with some really nice new potatos. Hannah, Will and Moodie all had Chicken Tikka baguettes. I found it particularly amusing how Will pronounced Tikka "Ticker". I had a good lol at that. Oh yeh, and Ed had a roast dinner.

There were quite a few wasps hanging around where we were sat, but luckily we were sat with Will, the wasp slayer - fearless of wasps. He litterally killed any wasp that came within sight of him, by just like, I donno, either clapping them, or just squashing them. WITH HIS BARE HANDS! I could never do that. haha.

After out meal I decided it would be a good idea to show Moodie the steam engine railway station. So we went down there and had a look at trains, and had our photo taken by a sign said said Tenterden. I dont have the photo yet, but I will post it up on here, along with the photo of Will's new guitar, soon!

We then set back home. The final thing I wanted to show 'the lads' was how you could see the new wind farm that is getting put up near Camber Sands, from High Halden! So I took them to the church and we walked through the graveyard and out the back into the field, where the prime viewing spot was. I was fully aware of EXACTLY where to go because I had gone for a walk to see this amazing sight, by my self, on Monday.

We then came back home and Ed, Will and Moodie went home. I am now sat here in my lounge fairly bored, but its ok, because Ross is coming up here in a second with his x-box. YESSS! We are going to go to Tesco and buy a new game to play all night! I really really want him to get MX vs ATV because I played on a demo of it and it was awesome!

A new start.

Hello!

So the last time I wrote on this blog was on Saturday 29th March. That is pretty much 5 months ago. A LOT of stuff has happened in the last 5 months. Way to much stuff to write about. haha. I mean, thats like roughly 150 days! I couldn't possibly write up all of that. It would just be boring, and I mean, I know I have a lot of free time but I'm pretty sure I can think of better things to do.

All I am going to say is that
  •  Summer has been completely awesome.
  • I've been to Jamaica, and met that famous laughing tour guide from Youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MorR04iLtMw)
  • A lot of alcohol has been consumed.
  • and Reading Festival was AMAZING. I snuck back stage and watched The Killers from the side stage.
Of course, one of the main tasks this summer was to get a job and pay off my massive overdraft..... well of course that didn't happen! The only work i've had is 3 hours a week at my local pub, which has been awesome, but hasn't payed off my overdraft in the slightest! Oh well, all is good, I'm just going to have to get a job when I go back to Southampton.

As the title of this post states. This blog is a new, fresh start to my blog, which is why I haven't really spoken much about previous events. I am simply going to start updating it again, from now, when I feel certain events should need to be 'blogged' haha.

There isn't really a great deal of events coming up for me to publish. Tomorrow Mr James Moodie is coming to visit me from Pourtsmouth, which is awesome, although I have no idea where I am going to take him or what I am going to show him! Next week I am going back to work at Columbia records, so that should be cool. I'm soon to move into my first house in southampton, and I'm sure there will be massive amounts of parties going on there. But yeh, not many other things really!

Anyway, lets hope that I manage to keep this blog up to date again!

It has to be said that my friend Richard Picot has inspired me to update my blog again. He moved to LA yesterday and has started a blog to keep everyone up to date with all of his adventures, which is going to be 10000000% more interesting than my blog. You can read that HERE.

Thanks for reading!

Yesterday.

Yesterday I went to the Vine with Ross. It was okay. Nothing special, but I still decided to get a picture for the blog!

After this I went and met my Dad up the local. We both got fairly drunk. Here's a picture of us watching Peep Show when we got in! It's a classic! (Note, my Dad was fairly tired, and I suggested he held his eyes open so that he didn't fall asleep!)

These three weeks have shot past and I am going back to Southampton tomorrow!! I've had a great time!

Until next time, toodle pip!

Last night.

Last night me and Matt decided to walk into Tenterden (3 miles) and have a pint with Dom at the Vine. Although it was pretty freezing, it was still good fun! After we had our pint, we walked home again, with a small diversion to visit Zapha the Tenterden kebab god. Good times. We walked a total of approximately 6 miles for a single pint. haha.

I also met up with Paulie D which was pretty cool, as I hadn't seen him for a while!

Sian Marie Doyle (My Girlfriend)

Yep! That is her! Isn't she great?

T-T-T-Tuuuuesday

Hello everybody. I hope you all had a marvelous Easter. I certainly did! The day was spent over Next Door's (although technically they are no longer our next door neighbors because they moved). We had a very nice Roast Dinner and went on an Easter egg hunt. Then that night Me, Matty M, Ross and Charlotte B went to the pub (The Chequers) We had a few pints and then headed back to my house where we were joined by Jack, Josh and Hannah. We then continued to drink until the early hours of the morning! It was great fun! We got extremely drunk! (As I'm sure you can see by the pictures below)

The next day (yesterday), Bank Holiday Monday, was spent hungover. I woke up and felt absolutely DREADFUL! I walked out my room, saw that my Dad was painting the landing, and gave him a casual "oh morning, I'm just going to be sick" and then proceeded to the bathroom. Later in the day I cleared up a bit and went into Ashford town with Ross so he could get a McDonalds. He also had a look at the new shopping centre in Ashford. After this I came back home and was bored. I remembered that my Mum had left me a note in the morning that said "Dan, please mop the floor, you are not in university at the moment". (or something along those lines, I should have taken a picture of it, hahaha) So I filled up a bucket with Flash and Water and got mopping! I found it so much fun that I ended up mopping not only the kitchen, but the hall, the utility room and the conservatory as well!

Later on Scotty P came round to do some photography work in my garden, using the shed, and a very bright light. It was all based on the film E.T. (the bit where ET is like in the shed or something). I made Scott take this kick ass photo once he was finished, which you can see below.

(In case you hadn't worked it out, DL are my initials. AWESOME!)

That evening JACK!!!!! Came round (Jack Saunders) which was wicked, cause we hadn't hung out for almost a year! We got on the beers and Josh had his X-Box 360 over so we were playing Skate on that. It was wicked!!!! Ross came up for a bit as well. We had a great laugh. We all slept together in my massive super king sized bed that night. It was a right giggle, and nothing of the gay nature occurred. Here is a photo of us all snuggled up together. hahahaha.

Today we went into Ashford so that Jack and Scott could check out the new shopping centre. I have been there so many times now! haha. We also went to the outlet and had a quick look in there. After the shops we got a Pizza Hut buffet, but I only managed 8 slices. PATHETIC!! I'll leave you with a photo of Jack and Scott in the car in Ashford. Bye!

P.S.

Happy Easter!!!!

Photos, Photos, Photos!

Hello!! That is me! (above!)

I am going to tell you about the past couple of days I have had.

On Wednesday night Scotty P and Matty M came over and we drank beer. It was good! We had a laugh. Here is a picture of us in the kitchen:

The next day (Thursday) was a bit poor. In fact. I cant even remember what I did on Thursday! That's how poor it was. I don't think I did anything.

Yesterday Scotty P and Myself went to Bluewater. We learnt that Good Friday, could possibly be one of the busiest days in retail of the year. It took us 2 hours 15 minutes to get there, when usually it takes about 45 to 50 minutes! It took us that long to get to the turning for Bluewater, but then, it took us the rest of that time to queue to get in!!!!! So here is a picture that I took of us waiting in the queue:

So anyway, we EVENTUALLY got in! And LOOK! what we saw:

Yep! Thats rite, we saw Peter Rabbit and his friends Mrs Tiggy Winkle and Johny Town Mouse! haha, amazing. I mean really, to see one of your early childhood heros in the flesh! It was a moment! Later on he was signing some autographs, but I played it cool and just took a picture of him from a distance. Here it is:

Cool. Then later on, we went into Urban Outfitters and I found this amazing jumper. Of course, I took a picture, and here it is!

Amazing huh?

Anyway. After this we went to get some food. Scott had a McDonalds meal and I had a Harry Ramsdens serving of fish and chips. Scott managed to spill the whole of his large drink of coke all over the floor which was pretty funny and left him thirsty still. We left Bluewater after this and went to Maidstone because Scott had found some shoes in Zara but they didn't have his size. We got to Maidstone, went to Zara, Scott got his shoes, and then he got another drink. This time, he didn't spill it, but some joker in the shop had shook the bottle, so when Scott opened it it fizzed out everywhere! hahahahaha.
Here is a pictur of Scott moments before this
 happened:

Haha. Look how excited he is to open that drink and have some. IF ONLY HE KNEW! hahahahahahaha.

Later on we decided to go to Tesco and give Mr Dominic Taylor Langley a visit. Therefore, what we forgot, was that it was Good Friday, and Tesco was closing early. So we got there and it was SHUT. Ruined. I got a picture of us being disappointed on the drive back to my house.

That night Me, Scott and Dom decided to go out in Ashord. It was a laugh, we all got pretty drunk. It was cool to see some good friends, including Bazza and Mike! Below are a few pictures from last nights antics.

Me and Dom!

Me, Dom and Bazza!

Me and Mike!

Today I decided to go into Ashford with my Mum and take a look at the new shopping centre that has just opened. That was fun. Here's a picture of mum driving!

In Debenhams there was a wicked band playing. I'm not sure what to call it, it was like a Brass band but with a banjo player! It was wicked. I got a picture of this! (I just love having a camera!!!)

So yeah! There it is! Hope you enjoyed, lots more photos to come! I'm probably going to go to sleep now!

Bye!

Forgot to include this earlier!

I took a picture of myself sitting on the coach whilst I was updating my blog earlier, here it is!

on a coach!

HELLO!

I am sat on the "Oxford Tube" (a coach service between London and Oxford) and it provides FREE! internet access. How good is that! It has created the perfect opportunity for me to update my blog.

The last couple of days have been quality! I'll start on last Friday, when Scotty P and Picot came round. We drank some cans, and then went to the pub. Then we had some more to drink when we got back. The Next morning Picot drove me to Orpington train station and I got a train to London, Victoria, to embark on my journey to Oxford to stay with Sian!

I got to London soon enough, and then got onto the Oxford Tube and soon enough, I was in oxford, where I was greeted by Sian's mum (Barbara) and Brother (Lewis). We went to Bicester Village where Sian was working (at Levis) and said a quick "hello!" (Sian was working until 7.30)

We then went back to Sian's house and I played some X-Box 360 with Lewis. We then went to pick Sian up from her work and went out for a meal at Pizza Express with quite a lot of Sian's relatives. It was cool! I had a 4 cheese pizza (I can't remember the proper name).

The next day Lewis took us to Milton Keynes and we went to the indoor ski slope! That was cool, it also had this giant wind tunnel that was like a sky diving stimulator! We watched people on that for a while, it was so strange seeing people "flying!".

On Monday Me and Sian went to Birmingham. We just spent some time looking around all the shops in the Bullring (the shopping centre) and went for a meal in Nandos! The Bullring looks so cool from the outside, if you are ever near Birmingham then you should definitely check it out!!

Yesterday we didn't do that much. Sian and her mum had the dentist at mid-day so we went there, and then afterwards we went to Bicester Village and I got some new jeans from Levis! We then went home and watched lots and lots of "The Office"

That brings things up to now really, where I am here, sat on the Oxford Tube, writing this blog! I have a new phone waiting for me at home with an alright camera, so soon, my blog will feature lots of quality photos again! Wahey!

Bye bye! x

On this day 3 years ago...

Blink 182 announced their indefinite hiatus :-(

I remember it well. I'd been to Pizza Hut with some friends. And then all of a sudden a got about 5 or 6 texts, all saying the same thing. That blink had announced their indefinite hiatus. I refused to believe what I had been told until I could get home and check for my self. So it didn't really effect me too badly. I was shitting my self tho, cause I knew that it would probably be true. It had been snowing all day and after Pizza Hut we went down to the car park at the Stour Centre and had a bit of a snow fight!

Then I had to get a bus home, and the roads were so bad. The bus was skidding all over the place!

I got home, checked blink-182online, punktastic, absolutepunk, europunk, mtv and they all had the same news!

Sad times!

I'm sure they will be back soon. Last night at an Angels and Airwaves show Tom played some of Reckless Abandon! I'll leave you the video below. Thats all for now! I'm off to the cinema to watch Juno.

Thursday 21st February.

Hello there.

I am extremely bored so therefore I have decided to update you all on my life!

I had a pretty good Valentines Day with Sian, we went to a restaurant called Bleu (or something like that) and had a 3 course meal (each) with a bottle of Peroni (each). Plan was to then head to OC and meet everyone else but unfortunately Sian wasn't feeling very well so she went back to her flat and went to sleep. I went to OC with everyone else and had a pretty good night! It was all valentines themed and there were loads of heart shaped balloons scattered around the place. SO! I stole a load. (14) and then made a swift escape back to Sian's' and gave them to her.

I also bought Sian Animal Crossing for Nintendo DS. She loves it - I'm the man.

Then on Friday I decided to go back home with Ross and Dom. Couldn't resist a free ride home!! I took Sian with me and we surprised my family! (they were delighted!) We spent the weekend at home in Kent! On Saturday Sian was shown around Tenterden town and Ashford Designer Outlet. That night we went to Prezzo for a meal which was very nice! After that me and Sian went and Met Dom and Ross in The Vine and had a couple of pints there before heading home.

The next day we had to get up and head back to Southampton early as I needed to be back in time to see JIMMY EAT WORLD!!!!!! at the Guildhall. We got a train from Hastings, did a couple of transfers and eventually ended back in Southampton! It was fun!

So yeah, that night I saw JIMMY EAT WORLD!!!! (yessss) and they were fantastic! Called it an early one after that and went back to the halls and went to sleep!

Nothing much happened for the next few days. Just university. Last night I went to Kaos which was wicked! Got very drunk and just had a good time in general! Today I've been making lots of paper planes and following instructional videos on youtube that teach you how to make THE ULTIMATE PAPER PLANE! Most of them have therefore,... sucked. BUT! I did make one that was amazing. It reached the roof of the next building and me and Dave were ecstatic!! That one currently holds the record :-D

Nothing much planned this weekend. I have to do the radio show with out James Moodie as he has gone home for the next few days but I will still have Fran by my side helping me choose the best of UK and US music for all of you lovely listeners.

You can listen to UK vs US every saturday at 12pm till 2pm on www.sinradio.co.uk

bye!

The Sun is Out!

The weather is amazing today! It's put me in a really good mood. Wahey!

Today is a good day. I managed to finish my essay (even if it is rubbish). And I am now waiting for the arrival of Dom and Ross who are coming to stay for a few days!! Can't wait!! It's going to be well good!

Tomorrow is valentines day, and for some of you reading this, you may or may not no, that I do indeed have a beautiful girlfriend now who is called Sian! We're going out of a meal in Southampton and then heading down the OC to join everyone else! It's going to be nice!

Dom's just rang! They are about 20 mins away!!

Bye!

Monday, 11 February 2008

Another small update!

As you may have noticed, I have 'spruced' things up a little on this page! There's a lovely picture of me at the Bahamas at the top. Then at the side I have added an RSS feed for the Guardian website which will keep you up to date on the latest news headlines in the UK. I thought that if I did this then it would supply a good reason for you all to set my blog as your homepage, not only do you get to read about the wonders of my life, but you are also kept up to date with the goings on of this world! Below that is a nice list of links to the websites that I go on daily! So, maybe, if your bored one day then you could check those websites out.

I have to write an essay about an independent record label and its impact on the music industry now. I have no research, and it's in for Wednesday. I hope I get it done!

Sunday, 10 February 2008

I'm still here!

I'm going to do a proper update soon....

I've been a bit lazy. haha.

Keep checking back, cause there will soon be an update on my life!

haha

bye! x
